Dual fans42 viewsI put a second Noctua on the CPU heatsink to aid in overclocking. I used four zip ties to hold the back fan onto the front, it seems to be working quite well so far. I also put two CD spindle plastic washers between the heatsink block and the bracket to clamp down harder on the CPU. (1 votes)

Fast?13 viewsFor whatever reason, my connection was going 1 Mbps above what it normally maxed out at. I was able to repeat the test results several times that day. They were back to normal (~7.2 Mbps max) the next day. (1 votes)

Testing the chip contact56 viewsMaking sure the chip is touching the HSF properly, after all, the last thing I want is a toasted chipset. My dad had to grind the mounting holes out a bit so the heatsink's prong thingies would go into the mounting holes. Also had to grind out some of the edge of the heatsink to fit around a capacitor and crystal. (1 votes)

486 experiment36 views486 DX2 66+64 MB RAM+Voodoo 1=not much. It would have taken it over 4 hours to install 98, but I pulled the plug about 20% of the way through. That's way too long for a 486 so something else must be wrong. I inserted the CPU the wrong way twice a while back, causing it to overheat in seconds. I'm guessing I might have damaged it :P. WTF?20 viewsI have no idea how that happened but it wasn't caused by me. The card seems to work okay though. (2 votes)

Empty case14 viewsI decided on a silver Thermaltake Tsunami w/o window because it had dual 120mm fans. A main goal for this system was quiet performance, which it does quite well :). (2 votes)

It works!39 viewsI was surprised that it worked afterwards, I heard that an XPS BIOS was required to get the card running, but apparently not. Now off to some benchmarks and gaming! The 7800 used to idle at 58-63 C and load at 83-88 C, the 7950 gets down to 45 or so with both fans forced on high. (1 votes)
