Stock Opteron cooler27 viewsAside from not blowing enough air over the MOSFETs, thus making them run hotter than I would like, the stock cooler works almost as well as the 7700. It's also quieter too. I'm definitely saving this one.

Other side of stock cooler29 viewsI love shiny heatpipes :P.
On second thought, it looks like the floppy power connector wasn't in all the way. I didn't notice this until just now :D.

New Crucial RAM28 viewsAbout damn time! Waited two months for this stuff, and it would have been longer if I hadn't pestered Crucial to send me Tracers instead of my non-blingy Ballistix.

Test run36 viewsI had let the CMOS clear for a few hours and I didn't have a monitor plugged in so the computer just sat in the BIOS. Although the RAM wasn't being stressed, it didn't get warm at all after a few minutes of idling. Hopefully that will carry over to usage at rated settings...

Motherboard and junk31 viewsThrew these pictures on here so that people at DFI-Street could see how well the heatsink would fit onto the motherboard :).

The whole thing32 viewsI was having temperature issues with my new Opteron so I decided to take everything out of the case to see what would happen. I fired up the Vista x64 beta to see how it would react to the new CPU.

Heatspreader33 viewsThe other side that you don't normally see. They put some weird rubbery epoxy/thermal pad on it.

"Naked" A64 3700+37 viewsThe copper colored spots on the far right are where I scratched through the substrate by accident. The CPU still works though. The orange stripes are because I used a scanner for the picture.

Memory heatsinks24 viewsThey look odd.

Fluffed up Mac32 viewsOut goes OS 8.1, in comes 9.2.2 and 10.2 :).

Zalman 7700 vs Big Typhoon38 viewsAnd I thought the Zalman was big...

Everything back in34 viewsLooks better than before. Routed the USB header cables under the motherboard, put the Raptor in the floppy bay, and dropped the Maxtor to the bottom of the HD bay to allow more air to pass.
