The card21 viewsIt was quite dirty so I figured I would try to clean it up as much as possible. That small heatsink snagged on the bubble wrap around the card and got ripped off. I super glued it back on :). I also took off the heatsink to check the core, which was a....

Heatsink transplant14 viewsI had originally planned on putting the 9800's heatsink onto the 9500, and putting my ghetto modded ATi Silencer on the 9800, but that didn't quite happen. It looks like the Ceramique I put on the 9500 got burnt or something. I did take the core up to 370-380 a few times, so it probably overheated. It would black out after a few seconds of 3D at 380, but 370 worked well. Stock was about 277.

Airflow is good12 viewsI decided that since I was putting in a new video card, I might as well clean up my cabling mess in my old case. I spent around 2-3 hours redoing everything. The results are worth it though. Now the airflow through the bottom "wind tunnel" is better :P.

Crap on floor 216 viewsAnother angle. I had the 9800 loop Nature in 3DMark 2001 for five hours to really heat it up, and ironically the computer got a BSOD a few seconds after I stopped the test :P. It was probably the system RAM acting up, or perhaps some crap my brother got on it when I let him use it...

Where everything went8 viewsThe cables had to go somewhere, so I just taped them onto the motherboard plate.

WTF?20 viewsI have no idea how that happened but it wasn't caused by me. The card seems to work okay though.

Weird...12 viewsA byproduct of heat? That etching is permanent unless I lap the heatsink down.

Yay!17 views....R360! I can flash it to a 9800XT and get potentially better overclocks as well as taking advantage of the 360's supposed slightly better shaders. The only problem is that the card doesn't have the temperature sensor chip, so I can't get temp readings.
